Maib Launches SmartPOS, Allowing Businesses to Accept Card Payments Directly on Smartphone
Maib continues to expand its digital services portfolio, launching an innovative solution for the bank's clients - the maib SmartPOS service, which makes it possible to accept card payments on the smartphone or tablet by-passing the need for separate card terminal.
High-performance maib SmartPOS technology turns Android phones and tablets with NFC features into contactless payment terminals, without any additional equipment. Companies have the opportunity to sell more easily, and buyers – to pay with maximum flexibility and safety.
Giorgi Shagidze, CEO of maib:
"We continue to diversify and create new standards of customer experience by implementing the most innovative digital products and services. Maib SmartPOS provides added value to Moldovan businesses, but also to customers, who will pay simply and easily with contactless bank card with a single touch of the smartphone. By launching this service, we are moving to the next level of digital payments.”
Strategic partners of the project are Visa, the leading electronic fund transfer company, and IBA Group, one of the largest technology developers in Central and Eastern Europe.
Maib SmartPOS is a suitable alternative to classic POS terminals, especially for businesses that require mobility and flexibility - notaries, courier services, hairdressers, small manufacturers, and plumbers. After contracting the service at one of the maib branches, all users have to do is to download the application and receive instant payments from customers directly to the bank account. SmartPOS transactions are secure, with the switching process similar to traditional card readers, and are protected by the same security as chip cards.
